240V outlet. The transmission
of high frequency signals via the mains electrical network (such as those used
to carry X10) can be affected by active or passive interference. If you have any
problems with interference, the plug-in filter will extensively suppress any
interference from a poor quality power supply or motor, increasing the range and
reliability of your system. Typical active
interference sources are appliances that do not dispose of their own generated
noise, some known offenders are some (not all) compact fluorescent lights,
LCD/Plasma monitors and computer screens. Normally, interference generated
normal household devices do not pose a problem due to the special dynamic
filtering techniques used by the X-10 system. However, a particularly bad device
may affect your X10 system but simply plug in this filter and the interference
is isolated.  |
