| | - High current relay
outputs (up to 270VAC/5Amps)
-
Great for multi zone Sprinkler
Systems
-
Can be controlled directly by
X-10 !
-
Can also be controlled by either
the Ocelot or Leopard
Controllers
-
To use the X10 protocol a
XM10 module must be
connected to the RLY8-XA™.
| Control by Leopard or Ocelot
The RLY8-XA™ is connected to the Ocelot or
Leopard via an RS485 wire. The unit then
becomes a unique "module" on the ADICON
network. For programming examples, please
see the manual below. Control by X-10 The RLY8-XA does not require any
software or programming when used as a
stand-alone X-10 device. The RLY8-XA will
occupy one House Code. Internal jumpers
establish the House Code. The STATUS LED
will blink to indicate the selected House
Code. (0 blinks for A..15 blinks for P).
Each relay corresponds to a Key Code.
The relays will respond to the following
commands:
- ON
- OFF
- DIM (for 2 second relay pulse)
- Bright (for 4 second relay pulse)
Example: The jumpers are set to establish
the X-10 address to A. -
Use any X10
controller and issue A1/ON. -
Relay 1 will
turn ON. -
You issue
A2/ON Relay 2 will turn ON -
You issue
A3/DIM -
Relay 3 will
turn ON for 2 seconds, then turn OFF.
Additionally, the RLY8-XA has an internal
watchdog option. The factory default is
DISABLED. The watchdog can be set to
DISABLED, 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The
watchdog timer is set by pressing a button
inside the unit. An LED flashes to indicate
the watchdog setting.
Example: The watchdog is set to 30 minutes.
The box is addressed to House Code A You
issue an A1/ON to turn on a sprinkler
connected to relay #1. The RLY8-XA starts an
internal timer for relay #1. If no other
X-10 command is sent to A1, then the relay
will automatically turn OFF after 30
minutes. This is a safety feature for
sensitive applications. If an A1/OFF was
issued, but failed to reach the RLY8-XA (due
to noise) then the relay would still turn
OFF without further intervention.
