The Eurotech PCN-1000 Passenger Counter is a compact and self-contained device based on non-contact stereoscopic vision technology. It has been specifically designed for passenger counting in the doorways of buses and trains. The PCN-1000 can also be used as a "person counter" to count people as they enter or leave buildings or any area with restricted access. Integrated isolated digital I/O interfaces can directly interface and control intelligent doors or flow control systems. A direct serial port interface can be used to interface to an onboard Eurotech mobile PC computer.
The Passenger Counter can be easily and unobtrusively installed over doorways, gateways, corridors or turnstiles. Stereoscopic cameras capture images of the area below the device in any type of lighting condition. The Passenger Counter analyses the height, shape and direction of any objects that are passing the field of view, determining if the object is a person entering or leaving. If a person is detected, the incoming or outgoing counter is incremented accordingly, along with time and date information. Data transfer and configuration interfaces can be easily adapted to different applications and installations.
The PCN-1000 passenger counter meets the requirements of EN50155 T1 standard; as well as resistance to humidity as well as shocks and vibrations commonly encountered in buses, trains or trams.
