DOVADO Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG) In combination with the FLASH-OFDM PCMCIA card, the DOVADO Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG) is the optimal delivery mechanism for operators to deliver a remotely-managed broadband telephony and Internet access solution. The DOVADO WRG is suitable for residential and business single-point of access where subscribers can connect their wired and wireless computers, PDA's, telephones and fax machines. The DOVADO WRG is portable and can be used at a temporary location such as a summer cottage, construction site or environments that lack wired broadband and telephony alternatives in general. One can turn any environment into an instant WiFi hotspot and if required to make phone calls, simply plug in a regular household phone. The WRG can be used with any frequency supported by FLASH-OFDM products. In order to avoid manual configuration of the telephony parameters as well as firmware upgrades by the subscribers, the DOVADO Gateway Manager (DGM) is available for operators to ensure maintenance of the WRG and the means to support future releases of FLASH-OFDM. See below for the list of currently supported PC card modems. The DOVADO Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG) supports the following PCMCIA modems: - Huwaei E600 (UMTS/GPRS/GSM) - Huawei E620 (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) - IPWireless (UMTS-TDD: TD-CDMA) - Option GlobeTrotter COMBO EDGE (EDGE/GPRS) - Option GlobeTrotter 3G Quad (UMTS/GPRS/GSM) - Option GlobeTrotter HSDPA (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) - Option GlobeTrotter Fusion + HSDPA (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) - Option GlobeTrotter GT MAX (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) - Option GlobeTrotter GT MAX 7.2 READY (HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM) - Novatel Wireless Merlin U740 Qualcomm Flarion Technologies (FLASH-OFDM®) - Kyocera/Arraycom (iBurst) The DOVADO Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG) can be firmware-upgraded over-the-air in order to support newer modems as operators evolve their networks from one technology to the next. This means that subscribers are afforded the luxury of not being required to acquire a newer gateway for each newer generation of technology that is introduced. |
